Sony Responds to #BetterPSN Petition

Sony is running away with the 8th generation console wars with the PlayStation 4 vastly outselling the Xbox One all around the world. Which is at it should be as the PS4 is the superior gaming machine, although there is one area where Sony’s unit lags behind Microsoft’s, the online gaming experience. Simply put the PlayStation Network is not that great, improved for sure, but still with a long way to go.

Even PlayStation die-hards would find it hard to argue that PSN is one of Sony’s weaker points when it comes to its console strategy. With hacking attacks, software issues, and various downtimes, the PSN is known to be a troublemaker, and some PlayStation users recently started a campaign to get Sony to improve it. NeoGAF started a campaign with the hashtag #BetterPSN and it is starting to gather some early momentum, with the campaign showing up on the likes of Reddit, YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook.

It is interesting because these are actual PlayStation fans asking for more from their network, these are the guys and gals who play Sony’s console. The Japanese company has responded to the petition and at least is sympathetic to its fans concerns, the statement reads:

“Feedback from our community is very important to us and helps guide our ongoing commitment toward making PlayStation the best place to play. We encourage users to submit ideas on ways to improve PlayStation products and services here: http://share.blog.us.playstation.com/. We appreciate the dialogue we have with our gamers and have built and improved features based directly on their input.”

True, Sony did not mention the #BetterPSN movement specifically, but it is nice to see the company at least acknowledging concerns of fans. Let’s hope that can translate into the PlayStation 4 getting a better network in the near future.
